During our initial session I will confirm that you are in CA, review your consent forms, and discuss confidentiality. We can discuss any questions you may have about the therapy process.
My goal is to gain an understanding of who you are by exploring your family of origin, mental health history, and current relationships. We will discuss your goals for therapy and plan for how we would like to work on them in future session.
An initial session is a great time to check in with yourself and see if you think we could be a good fit to work together!
In our first meeting, you are free to share as much or as little as you would like! We can go at a pace that feels right for you.
-
TLDR: Therapy can be as long or short as you would like!
Many people start off with weekly therapy sessions and space sessions out as they are making progress. We will set therapy goals to help us stay on track and make sure that we are working on the issues you were wanting to address. Once a goal is completed, you are free to set new goals or end therapy at that time. Everybody works at different paces so we can talk about a pace that feels right for you.

As of January 1, 2022 the No Surprises Act (H.R. 133) went into effect. Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
